307 SPEECH FUNDAMENTALS (1 SEMESTER) .5 CREDIT

SPEECH FUNDAMENTALS is a course designed so that the student may learn to master the basic fundamentals of good speech practices in every day conversation and platform speaking. The course will concentrate on the informative speech, the persuasive speech, and debate.

(This is a required course for juniors.)

408 FILM APPRECIATION (1 SEMESTER) .5 CREDIT

FILM APPRECIATION is a class designed to instill into the student a learning appreciation of film (and television), its departmental execution, its format, and its placement in the cultural arts. and its effects upon our lives. Concentration is on viewing and analyzing selected films. This class will also help students prepare for the production of a theatrical musical known as the senior class play.

800 TV PROGRAMMING I 1 CREDIT

TV PROGRAMMING I is a course designed to help the beginning student in TV programming to discover, comprehend, and apply basic skills and fundamentals to successful communication through television and video tape recording systems while providing a practical as well as theoretical learning situation. TV Programming also provides a basic understanding of the value of television, how to watch it, and acknowledge of the importance of demographics. This is a hands on equipment class with a variety of television assignments given. Updated equipment provides the student with an array of capabilities to exemplify his or her creative talents.

801 TV PROGRAMMING I I 1 CREDIT

TV PROGRAMMING II is by recommendation only. This class continues and develops through workshop format applied lessons of TV I and allows a freedom to create out of the ideas of the student using the television and audio equipment. Assignments are given using specific themes and/or equipment functions.
